The idea of smart parking is to manage the complications in parking cars and to make it easier for people to find free parking lots. The basic function of this project is to help people find the closest parking to the place they are going and then send them information via the website for the free spaces they could park their cars in. By applying the smart parking concept on every parking space in Egypt such as in city centers, stadiums, technology parks, airports, shopping centers, hospitals, housing estates, universities, and schools, not only drivers but also parking operators can benefit from this change. Users will be able to directly access navigation to free parking spaces, there will be smaller traffic problems, people will save money and time, and finally there will be less car use.
First, users will open the website and choose the place they are heading to, the website should directly show the user the nearest parking to the place. Once the user choose the parking, he/she should choose if they want to book a parking lot for a later time or show the available free spaces at the time being. The user should then proceed and choose between three different services, booking a normal free parking space, booking a free parking space with an additional service of smart wash which is an optional service that will be available in the system for washing cars from outside, or booking a free parking space with an additional service of smart charge which is also an optional service that will be available in the system for charging the batteries of electric cars.
Moreover, if user didn’t arrive to the parking place after the booked time by maximum half an hour, the fees of the first hour should be charged and taken from his/her visa card. As soon as users confirm the booking, two QR codes should be sent to them, one for entering the parking which will be disactivated after the entrance by 5 minutes, and the second for counting the number of hours the user kept his car in the parking and for the exiting the parking.
