During AOU’s participation in International Conference on Computer and Information Sciences in Saudi Arabia
The Arab Open University (AOU) participated in International Conference on Computer and Information Sciences organized by Al-Jouf University during April 3-4, 2019 under the patronage of HRH Prince Faisal bin Nawaf bin Abdul Aziz, Governor of Al-Jouf, Saudi Arabia.
As a keynote speaker, Prof. Omar Al-Jarrah, AOU Vice President for Planning and Development and Dean of Computing Studies, talked about the security challenges in cloud computing, and its importance as well as its applications and benefits provided to individuals, institutions, and organizations. He also shed the light on insider attacks as one of the major security risks in cloud environment.
Prof. Al-Jarrah presented a two-phase intelligent system developed by him and one of his students. The first phase filters accesses, then transfers any suspicious one to the second phase having additional features that work on categorizing these accesess. Al-Jarrah pointed out this system outperformed existing systems in this field.
The conference was manifest with the presence of experts and scholarsfrom local and international universities specialized in computing and information sciences, who presented 127 papers in this field.
The AOU’s participation came to achieve the positive interaction and build bridges of cooperation with other reputable universities in areas of knowledge-exchange and joint collaboration.
