Prof. Mohammad Al-Zakri, President of the Arab Open University (AOU), met with H.E. Ali Ahmed Agbash, Ambassador of the Republic of Chad to the State of Kuwait, at the embassy building, accompanied by Prof. Mustapha Achoui, Ms. Sheikha Alghamlas from the AOU President Office, and Mr. Saud Mudhhi from Cultural Relations and Information Department.
The aim of the meeting was to discuss the means of cooperation in the field of higher education and training between AOU and the Ministry of Higher Education, King Faisal University, and a number of educational and developmental institutions in Chad. The opportunities of offering English language programs by AOU to the students in Chad were also discussed during the meeting.
H.E. Ambassador Agbash expressed his appreciation for the great efforts of the University, which has provided the chance to a number of Chadian students to study in a number of AOU branches including its branch in Sudan.
He pointed out the importance of activating the previous agreement reached between King Faisal University in Chad and AOU, which is proposed to offer an English language program to meet the needs of the Chadian labor market and prepare qualified human cadres fluent in English.
For his part, Prof. Al-Zakri thanked Ambassador Agbash for his warm welcome. He also briefed on the AOU’s progress and its educational and developmental achievements in a number of Arab countries in accordance with the noble mission of the University and the vision of its founder, His Royal Highness Prince Talal Bin Abdulaziz, Chairman of the Board of Trustees. He mentioned that the founder’s vision is to establish a pioneering university in building the knowledge society and offering high-quality education with competitive fees.
