AOU President discusses cooperation ties with Kuwait Red Crescent Society and Alghanim Industries

The President of the Arab Open University (AOU), Prof. Mohammad Al-Zakri, received a delegation from Kuwait Red Crescent Society and Alghanim Industries Company. The delegation included Lama Al-Othman, Mariam Al-Adsani and Aysha Al-Khaldi from Kuwait Red Crescent Society and Hadeer Al-Shalash from Alghanim Industries.
The meeting addressed the areas of cooperation to financially assist some needy students at the University. Prof. Al-Zakri expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the good offices and humanitarian initiatives of Kuwait Red Crescent Society, and for the generous gesture of Alghanim Industries. He also praised the great effort and the humanitarian role of Kuwait in the fields of philanthropic and humanitarian work, and its generous contributions to needy people in different parts of the world.
The AOU President said the AOU, a non-profit educational and developmental Arab organization, is keen on strengthening cooperation and partnership with all public and private institutions interested in the development and community service of the countries where the AOU branches operate in implementation of the AOU’s vision and mission as well as the vision of its founder, HRH Prince Talal bin Abdulaziz. He also indicated that the AOU offers scholarships and financial school assistance to needy students through the student fund in cooperation with a number of charitable institutions and benefactors in Kuwait and Arab countries.
Prof. Al-Zakri indicated the current cooperation between the AOU and several scientific and charitable institutions and bodies. He also mentioned the AOU’s services and its developmental role towards students and Arab communities in addition to its achievements in the field of developing education and graduating manpower capable of competing in the labor market and facing challenges.
The delegation expressed their interest in developing the University and its programs and strategic plans. The meeting also addressed a number of issues and mechanisms of cooperation that assist needy students and serve the community. They stressed on continuing efforts and building bridges of communication with all bodies for the sake of promoting the humanitarian and philanthropic work and for the benefit of the peoples of the Arab world in response to the directives of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. In addition, this is what is known about the Kuwaiti nation that always helps the needy and afflicted peoples without discrimination.
