Prof. Moudhi Al-Humoud, President of the Arab Open University (AOU), signed last Monday cooperation agreements with three civilian bodies at the AOU headquarters. The agreements aim at enhancing means of common cooperation with these bodies in the fields of training and developing capabilities and work mechanisms in private and public sectors.
The first agreement was signed with the Real Estate Union represented by its Secretary-General, Mr. Ahmad Al-Doehes, to provide specialist workshops and training programs in real estate, money laundering, and financing of terrorism. In addition, AOU inked an agreement with Shariah Auditors Union, represented by Mr. Yacoub Alsaleam, Chairman of the Union Board. This agreement targets the training in the areas of Shariah professional auditing, financial transaction, and Islamic finance and investment. Finally, Mr. Jamal Al-Naserallah, Chairman of the Board of Kuwait Public Relations Association, also signed a cooperation agreement with the AOU, seeking to hold specialist-training programs in marketing, customer service, and public relations.
Prof. Al-Humoud emphasized that the role of AOU is not only limited to provide higher educational opportunities, but it also contributes to preparing manpower required by programs of strategic plans of sustainable development in Kuwait and in the Arab world.
She also pointed out that AOU has achieved many successes and achievements in the field of training and development as it has partnership agreements with a number of ministries and institutions. She added that AOU is a key partner in the human development process and in sharing responsibility with other competent bodies in preparing and developing manpower that leads development and prosperity in Kuwait and the Arab world.
